This Blackberry Basil Ricotta Pizza is a flavorful twist on traditional pizza, combining juicy blackberries, creamy ricotta, and fresh basil for a sweet and savory blend that’s perfect for summer meals or entertaining.
1 (14 to 16-inch) unbaked pizza crust
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cups fresh blackberries (about 1 pint)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded parmesan cheese
1/2 cup ricotta cheese
10 large fresh basil leaves, roughly chopped
Preheat the oven to 500°F with a pizza stone inside, if using.
Place the unbaked pizza crust on a peel or baking sheet. Brush the crust with olive oil.
Lightly mash half of the blackberries and spread them evenly over the crust.
Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheeses across the top.
Cut the remaining blackberries in half and distribute them over the cheese.
Drop small spoonfuls of ricotta across the pizza.
Carefully transfer the pizza onto the hot stone or baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese begins to turn golden brown.
While the pizza bakes, chop the basil. Add it to the pizza during the last couple of minutes of baking.
Remove the pizza from the oven, let cool slightly, and slice into 8 pieces.
