Try this easy Cajun Chicken Sloppy Joes recipe—spicy, flavorful, and perfect for a quick dinner the whole family will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground chicken

  • 1 bell pepper, diced

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 8 oz tomato sauce (1 can)

  • 1/4 cup ketchup

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 4 hamburger buns

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • Optional toppings: sliced pickles, shredded cheese, coleslaw

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced bell pepper and onion; cook for 3-4 minutes until softened and slightly caramelized.

  • Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute, being careful not to burn it.

  • Add ground chicken to the skillet. Break it apart with a spoon and cook for 5-7 minutes until fully browned and no longer pink.

  • Pour in tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine well.

  • Reduce heat and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

  • While the chicken simmers, toast the hamburger buns until golden brown.

  • Spoon the chicken mixture onto the bottom halves of the buns. Add any optional toppings you prefer, then place the top buns on.

  • Serve immediately while hot.
