Creamy cheddar garlic chicken bake is an easy, flavorful dinner made with tender chicken, cream cheese, and cheddar in one pan.
2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
6 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sour cream
1 1/4 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
4 garlic cloves, minced or pressed
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Optional: chopped green onions or chopped parsley for garnish
Preheat your oven to 400°F.
In a medium mixing bowl, blend the cream cheese, sour cream, 3/4 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese, and garlic until smooth and well combined.
Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Arrange them in a single layer in a large baking dish.
Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the top of the chicken. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese over the mixture.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
Optionally, garnish with chopped green onions or parsley before serving.
