  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 pounds)

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 teaspoons dried Italian herbs (such as oregano and basil)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste


Instructions

  • Preheat a flat top griddle or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and spread it evenly.

  • Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, pepper, and dried herbs.

  • Place the chicken on the hot surface and sear for 5 to 7 minutes per side, or until the chicken is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.

  • Reduce the heat slightly. Add the minced garlic around the chicken and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the garlic is fragrant.

  • Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese generously over the chicken. Cover loosely with a lid or foil to allow the cheese to melt, about 2 to 3 minutes.

 

  • Remove from heat and let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving.
