Description

Enjoy spicy Louisiana-style loaded fries topped with creamy cheddar cheese sauce and ranch—perfectly seasoned and crispy every time.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Fries:

  • 2832 oz frozen French fries

  • 1 ½ tsp brown sugar

  • ¼ tsp garlic powder

  • ¼ tsp onion powder

  • ¼ tsp chili powder

  • ¼ tsp paprika

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • 4 tbsp ranch dressing, plus extra for dipping

For the Cheese Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • ⅔ cup milk

  • 2 cups shredded medium cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven according to the instructions on the frozen fries package. Line two baking sheets with foil and spray them lightly with cooking spray.

  • In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

  • Spread the frozen fries evenly on the prepared baking sheets. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the fries, reserving about ½ teaspoon for later.

  • Toss the fries gently to coat them evenly with the seasoning. Bake the fries as directed on the package, turning the trays halfway through baking, until fries are crispy and golden.

  • While the fries bake, prepare the cheese sauce: melt butter in a medium skillet over medium-low heat.

  • Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring constantly to make a roux.

  • Slowly add the milk while whisking until the mixture is smooth and starts to thicken.

  • Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese gradually until fully melted and the sauce is creamy.

  • Reduce heat to low to keep the sauce warm. Add a little milk if the sauce thickens too much.

  • To serve, place about one-fourth of the fries on a plate, spoon ¼ cup of cheese sauce over them, and drizzle with 1 tablespoon of ranch dressing. Sprinkle a pinch of the reserved seasoning on top if desired.

  • Repeat layering with the remaining fries, cheese sauce, and ranch dressing for all four servings.

  • Serve immediately with extra ranch dressing, cheese sauce, or ketchup on the side for dipping.
