Easy sausage and tater tot breakfast casserole packed with eggs and cheese—perfect for a hearty brunch or holiday morning meal.
1 pound ground breakfast sausage
8 large eggs
1 cup 2% milk
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup shredded cheese
1 pound frozen tater tots
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage, breaking it into small pieces. Cook until browned and no longer pink. Remove from heat.
Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread the cooked sausage evenly across the bottom.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sausage in the baking dish.
Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of the egg mixture.
Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer over the cheese. Do not press them down into the egg mixture.
Bake for 50 to 55 minutes, or until the center is set and no longer wet.
Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
