BBQ Meatballs

Juicy, tender meatballs glazed with tangy-sweet homemade BBQ sauce – perfect for parties or family dinners.

 

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 3/4 cup oats
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup finely minced onion, divided
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • Plenty of ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • Canola oil, for browning
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. white vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 dash Tabasco

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Mix ground beef, oats, milk, 3 tablespoons onion, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Form into medium-small balls and place on a baking sheet.
  4. Freeze for 5 minutes, then dredge in flour.
  5. Heat canola oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown meatballs on all sides.
  6. Transfer browned meatballs to a baking dish.
  7. Combine ketchup, sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco, and remaining onion in a bowl.
  8. Pour sauce over meatballs and bake for 45 minutes.
  9. Serve with egg noodles, mashed potatoes, or crusty bread.
