Boneless Wings Recipe

Crispy double-breaded boneless chicken wings with honey hoisin sauce that are better than any takeout.

 

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds of boneless skinless chicken breast, cubed
  • 2 cups of all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon of sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 2/3 cup of milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 24 ounces of neutral frying oil
  • 1/2 cup of hoisin sauce
  • 3 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of butter

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken breast into 1-inch cubes and set aside.
  2. In a shallow bowl, whisk eggs with milk and season with salt and pepper.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour with all seasonings and whisk thoroughly.
  4. Double-bread each chicken piece by dipping first in egg mixture, then flour, back in egg, and finally in flour again.
  5. Place breaded chicken on a cooling rack to rest.
  6. Heat oil in a large skillet to 350-375°F.
  7. Fry chicken in batches for 5-6 minutes until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  8. If serving plain, season immediately after frying.
  9. For honey hoisin sauce, melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  10. Add hoisin sauce and honey, bring to a simmer.
  11. Toss fried wings in sauce and serve immediately.
