burger patty

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mayonnaise (full-fat recommended)
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons finely diced pickles (dill)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1 teaspoon finely minced garlic (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion, white or red (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, and yellow mustard. Whisk until completely smooth with no streaks.
  2. Stir in the finely diced pickles until evenly distributed throughout the sauce.
  3. Add Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce, mixing thoroughly until fully incorporated.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning according to preference. For more tang, add extra mustard; for more heat, add additional hot sauce.
  5. Transfer to an airtight container, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (1-2 hours ideal) to allow flavors to meld.
  6. When ready to use, remove from refrigerator, give it a quick stir, and spread on burger buns or serve as a dipping sauce.
  7. Store any remaining sauce in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 7 days.

Notes

  • For the best flavor, make this sauce a day ahead to allow the flavors to fully develop.
  • For a smoother sauce, blend all ingredients except pickles in a food processor, then fold in chopped pickles after.
  • This sauce works equally well on beef, turkey, chicken, or veggie burgers.
