This classic comfort food combines tender chicken breasts, creamy sauce, and savory stuffing for an easy and delicious one-pan meal that’s perfect for family dinners.

 

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can cream of chicken soup
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • 1 (1.4-ounce) packet French onion soup mix or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 (6-ounce box) dry stuffing mix, such as Stovetop Savory Herb Stuffing Mix
  • 3/4 cup chicken broth
  • 5 tablespoons butter, sliced into pieces
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, or as needed

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch casserole dish.
  2. Arrange chicken breasts in a single layer in the prepared dish.
  3. In a bowl, combine soup, sour cream, and onion soup mix; spread evenly over chicken.
  4. Sprinkle black pepper over the creamy layer.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix stuffing mix with chicken broth until moistened.
  6. Spread stuffing mixture evenly over the chicken and top with butter pieces.
  7. Bake uncovered for 50-60 minutes until golden and bubbly and chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Let stand 10 minutes before serving; garnish with parsley.
  9. Serve chicken and stuffing on individual plates with about 1/4 cup of sauce from the dish.
