Ingredients

  • 4 slices baguette (about 1-inch thick)
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp chili flakes
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 green onion, finely sliced (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, chili flakes, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well incorporated.
  3. Using a butter knife or small spatula, spread the garlic-chili butter mixture evenly across each bread slice, reaching all the way to the edges.
  4. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the bread slices, followed by the parmesan cheese.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbling with golden-brown spots.
  6. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with chopped parsley and any optional garnishes.
  7. Allow to cool for 1-2 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

For extra crispness, pre-toast the bread for 2-3 minutes before adding toppings.

Control the heat level by adjusting the amount of chili flakes.

For a cheese barrier that prevents sogginess, apply a thin layer of cheese directly onto the butter before adding the bulk of the cheese.
