chipotle dip

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • 1 tablespoon adobo sauce from the can
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or agave nectar (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, finely chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and have them measured and ready.
  2. Add chipotle peppers, adobo sauce, mayonnaise, sour cream, lime juice, minced garlic, and salt to your food processor.
  3. Add optional ingredients (cumin, honey, cilantro) if using.
  4. Blend until completely smooth and creamy, about 30-60 seconds.
  5. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed – add more lime juice for tanginess, salt for flavor, or honey for sweetness.
  6. Transfer the sauce to a clean bowl or jar with an airtight lid.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to develop.
  8. Stir well before serving as some separation may occur during refrigeration.
