Easy Breakfast Casserole with Crescent Rolls: Cozy and Satisfying

A delicious and easy breakfast casserole featuring a flaky crescent roll base, savory sausage, and cheesy egg filling.

 

Ingredients

  • 1 (8-ounce) package refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1 ¼ cups milk , I use 2%
  • ¾ teaspoon Kosher salt , or 1/2 teaspoon table salt
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/21 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded monterey jack cheese , can sub for cheddar or mozzarella if preferred

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. Unroll crescent dough and place in bottom of baking dish. Press seams together and edges up sides if excess. Bake 5 minutes.
  3. Brown sausage in skillet over medium heat, breaking apart with spatula. Transfer to paper towel-lined plate.
  4. Beat eggs in large bowl, then whisk in milk, salt, garlic powder and pepper.
  5. Sprinkle sausage over pre-baked dough, then spread cheese evenly over sausage.
  6. Pour egg mixture over top and bake 35-40 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes clean.
  7. Let cool 5 minutes before serving.
