Creamy Holiday Eggnog Dip

holiday eggnog dip

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups eggnog (store-bought or homemade)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg (preferably freshly grated)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Optional: 1/4 tsp rum extract (alcohol-free)
  • Gingerbread cookies, graham crackers, or fresh fruit for serving

Instructions

  1. Place softened cream cheese and powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until completely smooth and fluffy.
  2. Gradually add the eggnog, about 1/2 cup at a time, while mixing on low speed. Add vanilla extract and continue mixing until fully incorporated.
  3. Sprinkle in the ground nutmeg and pinch of salt. Whisk thoroughly until spices are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
  4. Transfer to a serving bowl, cover with plastic wrap (pressing directly onto the surface), and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 1-2 hours.
  5. Remove from refrigerator about 10 minutes before serving. Stir gently and transfer to a decorative serving bowl if desired.
  6. Sprinkle with additional nutmeg for garnish. Serve with gingerbread cookies, graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or fresh fruit.

Notes

  • For a smoother consistency, ensure the cream cheese is completely softened before mixing.
  • The dip will thicken as it chills, so allow enough refrigeration time.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
