  • 1/4 cup / 40g Plain / All Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup / 120ml Chicken Stock
  • 6 tbsp / 90g / 3.2oz Unsalted Butter, divided into tbsp chunks
  • 2 cloves of Garlic, minced/finely diced
  • 1 tbsp finely diced Fresh Parsley
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt, plus more to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper, plus more to taste
  • 1 Lemon, divided into 4 wedges (to serve)

Instructions

  1. Combine flour with garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish.
  2. Butterfly chicken breasts through the center to create 4 even pieces.
  3. Dredge each piece in seasoned flour, pressing to ensure even coverage.
  4. Heat butter and oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Cook chicken until golden on each side and cooked through (3-5 minutes per side).
  6. Remove chicken and add garlic to pan; cook 1-2 minutes until just starting to brown.
  7. Pour in stock and scrape up browned bits from pan bottom.
  8. Add remaining butter, whisking as it melts to create a smooth sauce.

  10. Let sauce simmer until slightly thickened, then reduce heat to low.
  11. Return chicken to pan, spoon sauce over, and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

For best results, don’t skip bringing the chicken to room temperature before cooking. You can substitute dried herbs if needed, but fresh will provide the best flavor. Nutrition facts are estimates and may vary based on ingredients used, portion sizes, and preparation methods.
