  • 1 small cinnamon stick (optional)

Instructions

  1. Gather and prepare all ingredients.
  2. Combine chicken broth, water, grated ginger, minced garlic, turmeric powder, and black pepper in a medium pot. Add any optional spices or dried mushrooms if using.
  3. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat.
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 15-20 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  5. Taste and adjust seasonings if needed.
  6. Strain the broth through a fine-mesh sieve if you prefer a clear broth (optional).
  7. Return to pot and bring back to a gentle simmer before serving.
  8. Serve hot in mugs or bowls, garnished with sliced green onions, fresh herbs, and a squeeze of lemon or lime juice if desired.
