Grilled Teriyaki Chicken Panda Express

Juicy chicken thighs glazed with sweet-savory teriyaki sauce just like Panda Express, but made right in your kitchen with simple ingredients.

 

Ingredients

  • lb boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1½ tablespoon neutral oil, divided
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoon water + 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions, for garnish
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat dry chicken thighs and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken 3-4 minutes per side until cooked through. Transfer to plate.
  3. Add remaining oil to skillet. Sauté ginger and garlic for 1 minute.
  4. Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Bring to boil.
  5. Mix water and cornstarch to create slurry. Add to sauce and stir until thickened.
  6. Return chicken to skillet, simmer 3-4 minutes on low heat.
  7. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
  8. Serve over rice with vegetables if desired.
