quick party snacks

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 slices ham
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 tsp Italian herb blend (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, cut the puff pastry sheet into 2-inch squares.
  3. If using Dijon mustard, mix it with a portion of the beaten egg.
  4. Place a small amount of the egg-mustard mixture in the center of each square (if using).
  5. Layer a piece of ham and cheese on each square, leaving a 1/4-inch border around the edges.
  6. Brush the edges with beaten egg to help with sealing.
  7. Fold one corner over to the opposite corner to create triangles and press edges to seal.
  8. Crimp edges with a fork for a decorative finish and extra security.
  9. Brush the tops with remaining beaten egg and sprinkle with black pepper.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes until puffed up and golden brown.
  11. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 3-5 minutes before serving warm.
