Nutella Blondies

nutella blondies

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Nutella
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup chopped hazelnuts (optional)
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9-inch pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang on the sides.
  2. Combine melted butter, sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl; whisk until smooth and slightly thickened.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until fully incorporated.
  4. Stir in Nutella until fully combined. For a marbled effect, reserve 3 tablespoons to swirl on top.
  5. Sift flour and salt over the mixture; gently fold until just combined. If using nuts or chocolate chips, fold in now.
  6. Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan. If reserved Nutella for marbling, drop spoonfuls over the top and swirl gently with a knife.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Allow to cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then use the parchment to lift the blondies out onto a cooling rack. Cool completely before cutting.

Notes

  • For fudgier blondies, aim for the shorter baking time. The center should still be slightly soft when removed from the oven.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days or refrigerate for up to one week.
  • These blondies freeze beautifully for up to 3 months. Wrap individual pieces and thaw at room temperature.
