Pumpkin Pie Recipe

Classic, creamy pumpkin pie with the perfect balance of warm spices in a flaky crust. A must-have holiday dessert!

  • 1 9-inch Homemade pie crust, or store-bought, deep dish, unbaked
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 large eggs
  • 15 ounce can canned pumpkin or fresh pumpkin puree
  • 12 ounce can evaporated milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Beat eggs and pumpkin together in a large bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, salt, ginger and cloves.
  4. Add spice mixture to pumpkin mixture and stir well.
  5. Gradually stir in evaporated milk until smooth.
  6. Pour mixture into unbaked pie shell.
  7. Bake at 425°F for 15 minutes, then reduce temperature to 350°F.
  8. Continue baking for 40-50 minutes or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean.
  9. Cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
  10. Serve with whipped cream if desired.

Notes

For best results, check doneness with a gentle wiggle—center should jiggle slightly and will continue setting as it cools.
