Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons crumbled blue cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons crispy bacon bits (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped chives (optional)
  • ¼ cup cherry tomatoes, diced (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, and buttermilk until smooth and well-integrated.
  2. Stir in lemon juice, crumbled blue cheese, and dried dill.
  3. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  4. Mix until smooth, leaving some blue cheese chunks for texture.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, ideally 2 hours.
  6. When ready to serve, give the dip a final stir.
  7. Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with additional blue cheese, bacon bits, and chives if desired.

Notes

  • For a thicker dip, reduce buttermilk to 2 tablespoons. For a more pourable dressing consistency, increase to ⅓ cup.
  • Make up to 48 hours ahead for best flavor development.
  • For a completely smooth texture, blend all ingredients in a food processor.
