  • 3 to 4 medium heirloom tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 (8-ounce) ball fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Extra-virgin olive oil, for drizzling
  • Flaky sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional: balsamic vinegar or balsamic reduction, for drizzling

  • Optional: fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  1. Arrange sliced tomatoes in a circular pattern or straight line on a serving platter.
  2. Place mozzarella slices alternating between the tomato slices.
  3. Tuck fresh basil leaves between the tomato and mozzarella pieces.
  4. Drizzle generously with extra-virgin olive oil.
  5. Season with flaky sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  6. If desired, add a light drizzle of balsamic vinegar or any optional ingredients.
  7. Let it sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes before serving.
